OIC Official Highlights Humanitarian Impacts of Irregular Migration at Regional Forum

Conakry: Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), addressed the Second Regional Forum on the Humanitarian Impacts of Irregular Migration and Social Peacebuilding, which took place virtually on 18 November 2025, in Conakry, Republic of Guinea. The event, held from 18 to 19 November 2025, was organized by the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC) in partnership with the Guinean Red Cross.

According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Bakheet emphasized the significance of strengthening humanitarian action and promoting sustainable social peace through dialogue, solidarity, and cooperation among communities. He highlighted the necessity of supporting displaced populations, assisting in recovery efforts, and maintaining human dignity across Africa and beyond.

Ambassador Bakheet reiterated the OIC’s commitment to collaborating closely with the ICIC, Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations in OIC Member States, and other relevant partners to further these shared goals.
