OCHA reports continued attacks on schools and health facilities in NWSW regions

The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has released a disturbing report detailing the ongoing violence and its impact on civilians in Cameroon's English-speaking regions.According to the report, armed groups have attacked 48 schools and 18 health facilities between January and June 2024, disrupting essential services and depriving thousands of people of access to education and healthcare.Since the crisis erupted in 2017, the conflict has claimed the lives of at least 6,000 people, while 700,000 children have been denied their right to education. Over 638,400 individuals have been internally displaced, and 63,204 have sought refuge in neighboring Nigeria.The UN's report highlights the devastating consequences of the conflict on the civilian population, particularly vulnerable groups such as children and women.
