Ouagadougou: The Ministry of Security on Saturday presented a donation worth seven million FCFA to Faso Mebo with the aim of contributing to the beautification of Burkina Faso. The Ministry’s contribution, totaling 7 million CFA francs, corresponding to nearly 55 tons of cement, strengthens the construction and urban beautification efforts undertaken as part of this initiative. In addition to material support, Ministry officials mobilized on the ground to manufacture, transport, and lay paving stones at various sites.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Commander Ahmed Ouedraogo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Security, stated that this approach aligns with the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who advocates the construction of Burkina Faso by its own citizens. “Today, the Ministry of Security, beyond its field missions for the restoration of territorial integrity, has decided to actively support the ‘Faso mebo’ initiative. It is a civic action that reflects our commitment to participate in the building of the country,” he said.
The Secretary General praised the mobilization of staff who, despite a busy professional week, responded to this civic appeal. “We congratulate the entire staff for their sense of duty and availability. On this Saturday, they sacrificed their rest time to contribute to the beautification of our cities,” he said.
Commander Ouedraogo noted that the ‘Faso mebo’ initiative is already yielding tangible results, with cobbled streets, rehabilitated intersections, and transformed roads. He encouraged the continuation of this dynamic and invited all Burkinabe citizens to draw inspiration from this action and to work towards transforming their living environment. “No one will come and build our country for us,” he insisted.
