Tenkodogo: The Association of Residents, Nationals and Friends of Sector 2 of Tenkodogo (ARRAS) concluded its 72-hour activities on Sunday with a significant donation to the Faso Mebo brigade located in sector 6, after organizing a reforestation operation and a popular cross-country race.
According to Burkina Information Agency, ARRAS officially handed over three tons of cement, three bags of seakalits, and a skip of crushed granite, for an estimated value of approximately 450,000 CFA francs. This gesture aims to support the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, encourage citizen participation, and assist in the construction of infrastructure useful to the residents of Tenkodogo.
Beyond the delivery of equipment, the members of the association were physically involved in the field, participating in the work, thus demonstrating their commitment to solidarity and the development of their neighborhood.
The day before, ARRAS had organized a reforestation operation called “One Family, One Tree,” reflecting its commitment to the environment and the fight against the degradation of vegetation cover. A community cross-country race also brought residents together around sport, fraternity, and well-being.
These activities mark the second edition of the “72 hours of residents and friends of sector 2”, an annual meeting of the association aimed at strengthening cohesion among young people in the sector.
ARRAS President Amadou Koudougou recalled that the association is a young organization that intends to respond to the call of the President of Burkina Faso inviting all Burkinabe to contribute to the beautification of cities and the development of the country. “Our contribution is not limited to materials; we also wanted to lend a hand to show that everyone, at their own level, can participate in building the nation,” he declared.
He emphasized the spirit of solidarity and civic responsibility that drives the members, while promising that other initiatives will be unveiled in the coming months.
By combining ecological actions, citizen mobilization, and material support, ARRAS confirms its leading role in local development. This year’s 72 hours reflect a sustainable dynamic, serving social cohesion, solidarity, and community progress in Tenkodogo.
